We believe rugs should be made the way important things are made With time. With care. With hands that know their craft.
Our Story
INAAV began with a simple belief: that the rugs we live with should be made with the same intention we bring to choosing them. In a world optimized for speed, we chose slowness. In an industry built on inventory, we chose made to order. In a market flooded with mass production, we chose to work with artisans whose skill took decades to develop. We're not reviving tradition for nostalgia's sake. We're honoring it because these techniques have endured for centuries because no one has found a better way. Every rug we create is a collaboration between our design studio and the artisans who will craft it. We're based in India, working with master weavers whose knowledge has been passed through generations. This makes us slow. It also makes us good.

How We Work
We don't hold inventory because we don't believe in making something until someone needs it. Every INAAV rug begins with a specific space, a specific vision, a specific client. You might choose one of our signature designs and customize it to your dimensions and colors. Or you might commission something entirely new, a pattern we develop together, sized exactly for your room. Either way, the process is collaborative. We start with conversation. We share materials. We refine details. Then your rug goes to the artisan whose hands are best suited to bring it to life. The making takes weeks. Sometimes months. Not every knot is identical. The dye lots vary slightly. The edges have subtle irregularities. These aren't flaws. They're proof of human hands. We send progress photos. We obsess over finishing. We deliver when it's perfect, not before.

The Artisans
We work with master weavers across India. People who learned this craft from their parents, who will teach it to their children. Their expertise spans techniques: hand knotting at densities most modern machines can't achieve, hand tufting with precision that creates beautiful texture, handloom weaving and flatweave with tension control that only comes from decades of practice, finishing work that ensures a rug lasts generations. We plan projects months in advance so their work is steady. We pay fairly, not as charity, but because this is how good things get made. We never rush a deadline if it compromises quality. These aren't just our suppliers. They're our collaborators. The difference between a rug that lasts five years and one that lasts fifty is in ten thousand small decisions. We make those decisions together.
Materials
Premium Wool
Soft underfoot, takes dye beautifully, ages gracefully. The foundation of most of our work.
Silk & Art Silk
Adds luminosity and depth, shows pattern detail with precision. We use silk for luxury pieces and art silk when a beautiful aesthetic needs to meet a practical budget. Both create stunning results.
Cotton
Provides structure and strength. Essential for flatweaves, perfect for foundations.
Jute
Brings natural texture and earthy character. Ideal for organic, relaxed aesthetics.
We work with you to find the right material for your vision and your investment. Sometimes that means pure wool and silk. Sometimes it means thoughtful combinations that achieve the look you want at the price point you need. If we wouldn't put it in our own homes, we won't make it for yours.

Our Values
Made to Order
Nothing is created until someone needs it. This eliminates waste and ensures every piece is exactly what was wanted, not what was available.
Artisan Partnerships
We work with the same craftspeople year after year. Long-term relationships mean better communication, deeper trust, and higher quality.
Quality Over Speed
A hand-knotted rug can take months. We won't rush that. The time invested is what makes it last decades.
