The Craft

The Aura asks the tufter to follow a boundary that is never straight and never the same twice. Each concentric band must hold an even width as it navigates the undulating silhouette, narrowing and widening only where the design intends it, not where the hand drifts. The colour transitions between bands require careful management of the tufting sequence, each zone completed before the next begins so the edges between colours remain clean. It is patient, methodical work, the kind that India's carpet making tradition sustains quietly, in workshops where the complexity of a piece is understood not as a challenge but simply as the work.
