The Strata is hand-tufted by craftspeople working within India's carpet-making tradition, a lineage that has long translated complex pattern into pile with a level of precision that resists mechanisation. The shifting tonal bands in this piece require careful colour management across the tufting gun, with each zone built row by row. The shaped edge cut and bound by hand after tufting is where the geological illusion is finally completed, the organic silhouette softening what is otherwise a piece of rigorous geometry.
