The Craft

The Tendril's design contains two distinct demands within a single piece. The looping forms in the upper field require the tufter to work in tight, consistent curves, each circle holding its diameter across multiple rows. The undulating wave forms below require a different quality of attention: a looser, more flowing movement, following a line that resists being mechanical. Holding both within the same piece, and making the transition between them feel inevitable rather than abrupt, is the quiet skill the artisans bring to this work.
